Supporting companies that provide local jobs is a good thing. Buying things we know are made “fair trade” with respect to workers is a good thing. Purchasing items that are made from natural sources, and not chemicals, is a good thing. Protecting the environment is a good thing. Finding companies that incorporate all of these things into their products is a very, very good thing.
Juniper Ridge is doing it right. I am a very recent consumer of their quality goods and I can’t say enough good things about them, because – they really are doing it right.
Every item Juniper Ridge manufactures is a little different than the one before it, because they rely entirely on what they harvest in nature to make their products. They hike around the U.S. West and they pick things like wildflowers, plants, bark, moss, mushrooms, and tree trimmings and then convert those things into soaps and perfumes. Every product they make has a “harvest number” stamped on it and if you look it up, you can actually see pictures of the plants and things that were used to make your item.
What really makes this company unique is that on top of making items in their workshop in Oakland, California, they also make items on dirt trails and around campfires as they are out and about wandering the wilderness. Everything varies based on the seasons and what is available out in the wilderness. They harvest with respect to the environment and they go so far as to donate 10% of their proceeds to Western Wilderness Defense organizations. It’s a win-win for the environment, for local workers, and the consumer.
I ordered my first item from this nifty small business this week, and it got here in literally one day. (And I only paid a few bucks in shipping – no extra charges for such fast delivery.) The best part of it is that I love, love, love my new soap. The scent literally smells like a walk in the woods. When I open the bottle up I feel like I’ve gone camping. And, the best part is that after a shower, the whole bathroom smells like camping in the great outdoors, even if just for a little while. Just take a look at the ingredients – all natural!
And here is a front view of the bottle, which shows the awesome name of the product:
Thank you to Juniper Ridge for providing such quality, organic, earth-friendly, job-friendly products. There isn’t any need to support chemical-laden products that travel 10,000+ miles across the ocean polluting the air and oceans when we can purchase such wonderfully-made, local, organic products such as these! I love your products and I can’t wait to buy and try more of them!
