Veganuary!

Have you ever thought about trying a vegan diet? Has your doctor suggested living a healthier lifestyle? Have you grown concerned about climate change? Then Veganuary is for you!

Everything you could ever want to know about committing to veganism for a month can be found here: https://veganuary.com. This fabulously comprehensive site includes absolutely everything you could want to know about getting started – recipes, how to eat out, and everything about how you will help animals, the environment, your health, and much, much more. The goal is simple:

Veganuary aims to reduce the suffering of animals by inspiring and supporting people across the globe to go vegan for the month of January.

As a vegan for more than 9 years now, I have a list here of a few of my favorite foods, just to get you in the healthy-I-can-do-this-mood:

Quinoa: Absolutely my favorite dinner option, it’s a rice-like grain that contains everything you need for a complete protein. It takes about 15 minutes to cook up on the stove, and I just add a little pepper and a salad on the side and dinner is served. There are a million different ways to serve this quick, easy, and healthy dish.

Raw Revolution Bars: All I can say is YUM! High protein, gluten-free, non-GMO, super delicious vegan snack bars. I love, love, love these healthy, low-sugar snacks. I get them on Amazon with my Prime shipping, but you can also get them here: http://www.rawrev.com.

So Delicious Dairy Free ice cream: My one fear about “going vegan” was giving up ice cream. But, that was extremely short-lived when I realized that soy ice cream is MUCH better tasting than ice cream made from cow’s milk!! (Almond and coconut milk ice creams are also good, but the soy ice cream is truly divine.) You can get all of these kinds of ice creams at any grocery store. These are but a few of the many, many vegan food options out there. Eating vegan is not only good for your health, the animal’s health, and the environment’s health – it is also delicious, nutritious, and fun!
